Blog Reflection: What do you think Sierra College will look like ten years from now and what will be the role of the online program?
Ten years from now, I think Sierra College will have doubled its distance-learning and the online-learning environment will be significantly improved due to the staff who are investing their time and effort to enrich the courses as well as the faculty training program. I think almost all classes will have an online version.
However, there might arise some issues. For example, some might say that piano classes could be technically taught online, but the quality will be diminished: sound production(acoustics), pedaling technique, kinesthetic (technical) approaches, and very delicate sound colors. These are all key elements for an accomplished pianist, yet these must be taught in person.
